Sahara Celebrates 25 Year Anniversary

Bountiful – Sahara, Inc., a local construction management and design/build firm, is celebrating their 25 year anniversary this month.

"Sahara has enjoyed a professionally challenging and rewarding first 25 years, having been able to participate in creating some of the iconic projects in Utah and the Intermountain West," said Tom Mabey, founder and CEO of Sahara, Inc. "We look forward to a bright future and the opportunity to team with more great clients in helping improve their businesses and the communities in which we live and work."

Established in 1985, Sahara has had the opportunity to build many significant buildings in the western United States. In Utah, Sahara's portfolio includes such projects as the Daybreak Corporate Center and Village Center, Miller Motorsports Park, Energy Solution Arena, Franklin Covey Field, Cottonwood Corporate Center Buildings, four Megaplex theaters, Jordon Commons, 12 correctional facilities, over 75 automobile dealerships and many other prominent structures.

Community service is a big part of the culture at Sahara. Their mission statement reads "Sahara associates will make lasting contributions to the communities in which they live and work." In 2007, the SaharaCares Foundation was established to help children in need in the community. SaharaCares is well know for their dedication and work with children with autism. In march 2009, SaharaCares was awarded the "Angels for Autism" Award by Autism Speaks and was named the "Outstanding Company of Year" by the Autism Council of Utah in 2008.

Over the past 25 years Sahara has provided professional design/build and construction management services utilizing a unique client-oriented, collaborative management approach for the design and construction of commercial, industrial, institutional, retail, sports and residential projects throughout the western United States.
