Sahara Builds New County Justice Courts in Surprise and Chandler

Tempe, AZ (May 5, 2005) – Sahara, Inc. is providing full construction services on two new county
courthouses in Surprise and Chandler, part of the Maricopa County Capital Improvement Projects.

The new Maricopa County Northwest Consolidated Justice Courts on Tierra Buena and Statler Blvd. are located directly south of the existing court building in Surprise. This $5.5 million, 36,000 sf, design-build project will feature four courtrooms, judges’ chambers and other support offices. Currently the roof on the facility is being installed while the finishes are going on below. The entire project will be completed in September 2005.

Maricopa County Chandler Consolidated Justice Courts are located on Arizona Avenue and Chicago Street in Chandler. This $3.9 million, 22,006 sf, design-build project features two courtrooms, judges’ chambers and other support offices. Currently in the pre-construction phase, this justice courts facility is due for completion in March 2006.

In September 2003, Sahara Inc. completed the $4.5 million Maricopa County Facilities Operations and Maintenance Building that also is a part of the Maricopa County Capital Improvement Projects. The MC Facilities Operations and Maintenance Building was nominated for the 2003 Project of the Year Award by the Arizona Subcontractors Association. All three of these Maricopa County projects were built with one of Sahara’s design-build partners, Arrington Watkins Architects, LLC.
