Sahara Inc. is a professional organization that dedicates itself to providing superior construction management services. The Sahara legacy began in 1985 when Thomas Mabey, the founder and principal, founded a company whose commitment and service are as unique as its name. Since its beginning Sahara has dedicated itself to not only building quality projects, but also making lasting contributions to the communities in which we live and work.
Sahara has always been an organization that is built on a foundation of strong relationships. We acknowledge that we must practice values such as loyalty, integrity and commitment at home and within our organization, if we are to be effective sharing those values with our customers and clients. We believe that a culture which serves its associates effectively will be better prepared to serve others. Sahara serves its associates by providing a disciplined career path that produces competent construction professionals. All Sahara associates undergo extensive leadership, technical and personal development training. These associates take the skills they have acquired and apply them in serving our industry and our communities.
A culture based on “service to others” fosters an environment where proactivity, quality and innovation can flourish. We at Sahara believe that true competence in our very diverse and technical business can only come through collaboration between all parties involved in the process. This means that we must leverage the experience of the owner, the designers, subcontractors and suppliers in a collaborative, professional manner, that acknowledges the contribution of all disciplines.
Since Sahara’s founding in 1985 the company has had the opportunity to gain experience in many unique and challenging projects. Sahara’s experience includes projects in the Automotive Industry, Sports and Recreation, Theaters, Public Safety, Office, Retail, Hospitality, Industrial, Residential, Medical, Educational and Mixed Use. Specific projects include; The Energy Solutions Arena (Home of the Utah Jazz), The Miller Motor Sports Park (International Motor Sports Facility of the Year in 2006), the BYU-Idaho Performing Arts Center, the LHM Megaplex Theaters, the Kennecott Corporate Headquarters and the SLCC Public Justice and Culinary Arts Complex.
